Country-Style Rib Sandwiches

Savory and salty with a touch of sweetness 👌 our Rib Rub is the perfect flavor foundation 😋 for the succulent pork found in these Country-Style Rib Sandwiches. The tender, saucy ribs are easy to make in either a smoker or an oven. Stack ‘em on a hoagie roll with onions and jalapeños and you’ll have delicious sandwiches certain to satisfy the heartiest of appetites!

Yields 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs. boneless country-style ribs (approximately 6 ribs)
  • 6 tbsp. Bolner’s Fiesta Brand Rib Rub
  • 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce (16 to 20 oz.)
  • 6 hoagie rolls
  • Crispy fried onions
  • Pickled jalapeños

 

Directions:

  1. Season each rib generously on all sides with Bolner’s Fiesta Rib Rub.
  2. Preheat smoker or oven to 250 °F. Place ribs directly on smoker rack (if using smoker) or on a wire rack above a baking sheet (if using oven) and cook for 2 to 2.5 hours. Ribs should reach internal temperature of approximately 160 °F.
  3. Place ribs in foil pan and add 1 bottle BBQ sauce, coating ribs. Cover with aluminum foil and return to smoker / oven for 1 to 1.5 hours, until ribs are probe tender (approximately 195 °F)
  4. Uncover, stir, and let ribs rest for 10 to 15 minutes to allow sauce to thicken. Ensure each rib is fully coated with the pan sauce
  5. Slice hoagie roll lengthwise and add one rib to each sandwich, then top with crispy fried onions and pickled jalapeños
