Easy Weeknight Chili
Ingredients:
2 lb chili meat / ground beef
4 cloves fresh garlic Bolner’s Fiesta Brand® Garlic in Oil
2 Tbs Bolner’s Fiesta Brand® Instant Chopped Onion
1-15oz can tomato sauce or 2 Tbs tomato paste
1 quart chicken broth
¼ cup Bolner’s Fiesta Brand® Chili Powder
½ tsp Bolner’s Fiesta Brand® Ground Comino
½ tsp Bolner’s Fiesta Brand® Ground Black Pepper
Salt
¼ cup flour (optional, for thickening)
Directions:
Slowly brown the meat in a thick bottomed stew pot. When halfway done, add onions and garlic. Add tomato sauce, chicken broth and salt. Simmer for 1 hour. Heat 5 Tbs Vegetable oil in a sauce pan over medium heat. Fry the flour, spices and chili powder until aromatic, about 5 minutes. Add this roux to the meat. Simmer on low for another 30 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy! Chili is always better the next day.
Chopped onion: 1:3 onion to water
